About the artist


Davide Degano (b. 1993) grew up in Udine, in the Friulian foothills of north-east Italy. They started dancing at Axis Danza in their hometown and the they left at fifteen to study dance in Florence, then Rome, and at twenty enrolled at PNSD Rosella Hightower in Cannes. From 2014 they have lived and worked in Germany, dancing in the ensembles of Theater Pforzheim and Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, and freelancing since 2020 with companies including Shibui Collective, XX Taztheater, Neuer Tanz, Billinger&Schulz, Theater Bonn and Tanztheater Katja Erdmann-Rajski.

Alongside performing, Davide has been making their own work since 2016 — first as a choreographer and a composer. Their pieces — N/1, Eros, Forgotten notions, Paesaggi brillanti, profumi dimenticati — share a long preoccupation: the body as a vessel for memory.

Since 2020 they has also composed music for other choreographers, with works performed in Italy, Germany, France.

They are currently developing their first full-length piece and is open to co-productions, residencies and grant collaborations.
